well, its the weekend. so like most this summer, its time to pile in the car and gear up for another adventure. this time, we're heading north to my bff's cottage in michigan. and as an added bonus, two of our college roommates are making the trek from cinci (sans babies and husbands). watch out!
there will be days at the beach, inevitable drinking games (zoomy zoomaaaaay), the rehashing of all our favorite tales about each other during those college dayton years and all that other general catching up you do when you see a collective group once a year (if you're lucky).
its going to be fantastic to slow down, lay in the sun and just be with some of my absolute favorite people. we always pick up just where we left off and this trip will undoubtedly spark more dates to be scheduled on our busy calendars.
have i mentioned i have the best friends?
cause i really do.

O-H...
oh haaaay tuesday. how's it going?
i'm still processing my glorious weekend back home. i got to spend time with a ton of my family and friends i see far too little of. but why is there never enough time? (is this a theme or whaaat?) geez.
i'd just like a few more hours to sip mimosas and laugh too loud with miss alexa - stay up too late playing the jukebox with BK - bust a few more dance moves with my cousins and baby sis on the dance floor - hang in the backyard with my pups - and drink beers in and watch the fire crackle with my parents. the weekend was certainly action-packed and i didn't get nearly enough sleep, rest or exercise, but if there was a rewind button, i'd be using it.

today i'm reminding myself to just soak it all in.
balance, you are a tricky devil.

can i get a pause button?
why hello. pardon the dust.
it seems summer has taken over and knocked just about every routine i know and love off its tracks...including this corner of my life. i'm certainly not complaining. the last (cough cough) six weeks have been a whirlwind of adventures. i went to vegas, worked a successful event that was practically running my life for the better part of two months, lost my voice in the process, celebrated a few birthdays, ran a race on my dumb knee, saw some awesome live music, supported my gays, made a quick trip home, scored some wheels for a few months and today i am fresh off an amazing cabin/lake weekend in wisconsin.
aaaaaand now here we are mid july, with the rest of the summer on the same action-packed path. i am so so grateful to be able to spend the time and resources enjoying travel, my company and the sunshine – but summer, pleeeeease slow down. i just need a minute to breathe and a few more to soak it all in.
how do you stay on track when life gets crazy?
or hell, is embracing it my best option?
