i jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
14,000 feet above the ground at a free fall drop of 120 miles per hour...

and it was a-mazing. cannot wait to do it again! what an incredible rush.
first up, the lovely janiece is coming to town. she's one of my oldest friends and we always have a blast. friday we will eat like kings and see where the night takes us. hopefully it won't take us to a 4am bar because saturday we need to bring our A game. we are all signed up (and maybe a tad too excited) to be participating in the city solve urban race. basically we'll be running around the city for 5 hours on an Amazing Race style scavenger hunt. i've been wanting to do one of these for years and i couldn't think of a better partner. we have quite the history teamwork department. even gold medals to prove it...
sunday we are spending the day down on in wicker park at most favorite festival of the year, renegade! i always find really fun things year after year and couldn't be more excited for janiece to get to see all the goodies for herself.
after i say my goodbyes to j, it's back to work but a quick 8 hours later, it's time to play at the jenny and johnny show at one of my new(ish) favorite venues, lincoln hall! aaaand i'm more than a little excited to see miss lewis on stage. i always knew hannah would be a star.
wednesday is the big day. the day i didn't even know i was waiting for. the day that completely terrifies and excites every bone in my body. wednesday i go SKYDIVING! ahhhh. we've been talking about it for months? years? but a groupon spoke to us one morning and before we knew it four of us were all signed up and ready to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. my good friends did this in high school but i wasn't allowed to join them. this time, i'm an adult and ughhhh probably waaay more scared than i would have been a decade ago. BUT, we're doing it and ahhhhhhhh.it's difficult to parse out someone else's formative moments from their trival ones when you weren't there to witness either.
happiness is a consequence of person effort.
you must be very poliet with yourself when you are learning something new.
the future is called "perhaps", which is the only possible thing to call the future. and the important thing is not to allow that to scare you.
you cannot always change circumstances, but you can always change your reaction to them.
living in the past is a dull and lonely business; looking back strains the neck muscles, cause you to bump into people not going your way.
if i am doing nothing, i like to be doing nothing to some purpose. that is what leisure means.
